Planning is important
Planning your day in detail is very important. Your activities for the whole day should be planned. The time distribution for each subject should be clear to you a day before. If you will follow a proper timetable and a balanced study schedule then it will leave you with enough time for other activities.
Set deadlines
Set deadlines for each chapter/topic because when you set a deadline your mind works to achieve the goal and complete the work before the deadline. But when you don't have a deadline then your mind procrastinates and it takes longer time to complete the same work. It’s up to you how long you study but I would recommend not less than 7-8 hours a day. It doesn’t matter how long you are studying. What really matters is what you study and how much you understand.
Don’t Jump
If you find it hard to understand a topic from one book, don’t jump on to the next book. Instead, you should ask your mentor/teacher to clear your doubts. This will save you time and will not mess things up.
Be Minimal
Don’t go with doing the problems and understanding the concepts from too many books. What really matters is doing the right books. Complete one book then only move to the next. Go through the book without leaving important concepts.
Quality Matters
Try to solve quality questions/problems rather than focusing on dumb sh*t. If you are solving a large number of easy and similar problems and feeling confident about it, you’re in deep sh*t. You can cry now if you are stuck with a problem and ask for help. But when it is the exam day. Nobody will care about you. So, practice different problems and don't move away from hard concepts and problems.
Revise regularly
Don’t ever miss out or try to bunk the lectures even if you know the chapter/topic. Try to maintain good relation with your teachers and discuss your queries with them. Always revise regularly. It’s not going to get inside your mind in the first time. So let me remind you the mantra: revise, revise, and revise.
Beat the exam fear
Take the online test series of a good IIT JEE coaching institute. Make sure you are focusing on your weak subjects and managing your time well during the Mock Tests. Review your solutions after each test and revise whatever you have done wrong in the test.
Avoid Distractions
Stay away from mobile phones, social media and relationships. These are the three biggest distractions that are going to suck up your time. Exercise daily for at least 15-20 minutes to stay fit and healthy.
